The craftmanship looks good, but the whole idea is awful. I can't quite work out what that plunger thing is on the left, some sort of manual oil feed?

That is truly bizarre... spend an awful lot of time and effort to make a crap bike crapper, then add a crap faux brand.. still, some people spend their time making matchstick models of St. Paul's Cathedral Confused

with the handle bars drooped that low to the ground, that must be actually painful to ride with those caps on the tank stabbing your chest constantly

If he has gone to that effort he could have at least used a DKW 125 engine or one of it's derivatives. That would have had a genuine Harley legacy.

Totally illegal. This bike art installation has diverged so far from whatever parts it's based on it'd require going through the MSVA. An examiner would say no just glancing at that tank - sharp corners and protruding fuel caps are a big fail.

Why would anyone do that?

Just doesn't make sense. Metalworking project maybe? Elaborate joke? Is it rigid front and back then?

Look at the details. The hand shifter linkage looks like it probably works. How would you operate the clutch?

"The craftmanship looks good, but the whole idea is awful"

Agree,
I initially liked the steampunkish idea then a few seconds later thought
nahhh!
Its failed the form over function rule for me
the HD painted panel looks poor
the drooped bars are just stupid
Brown seat and no mudgaurds, oh FFS
Hand change? seriously?
If he fitted a mock up and left the working foot change in place few would have noticed.
Just like the priming pump which is going nowhere and doing nothing
which is great cos it cant do any harm.

Those forks.... hmm..... cant see if they actually functional or not
Why does it have a big frame loop under the engine?
this is of no use nor ornament

Just looked at the price
five fahkin grand?
the madness continues

One last thought.
I'd like to see a person of even average height and build sat on it
then we'd see how truly fucking bizarre and useless it is.

It says its road registered, so where's the nice big yellow numberplate?
It's not old enough to qualify for VHI status so how about an MOT
for me five grand?

It just clicked!

That thing is troll art. It's telling us, it's over.

Whoever did this has access to a workshop or a lot of specialist tools. They aren't just an enthusiast - they probably have either training or have been through a lot of trial and error, and they definitely aren't some clueless kid*. Yet, look at that cheapo seat. Does that make sense? After all that work? That's trolling us.

I assume the clutch control cable goes inside the handlebar and comes out just to the right of the risers.

Don't know about all that welding on the frame - seems either absolutely perfect or else a lot of grinding and filler. Let's give the benefit of the doubt and say it's perfect.

The Harley Davidson thing on the tank and on the engine case of a 125 means that it's made to give people a bit of a laugh. There's a lot of excess metal up front - a lot was spent to create a no-utility novelty for bike shows.

This is the end of bikes. Never thought I would be the one to call it, but there you go. That's a combo of money and access to an actual workshop, to produce something you can't even use for fun. It's even telling us the whole story of what brought about the demise of petrol motorcycles and motorcycle culture. It's got everything in there. The complete story. It mocks every custom bike meet, ever.

* Note, I'm not counting things like the lack of rubber chain guide and other ridiculous things, etc. because obviously this bike is meant to be presented, and not ridden. The bike wouldn't work well as a bike but the maker is saying things like, "oh but you can't fault the tidiness of the copper tubing". The bike is, I think, a critique of the whole custom thing.

Art my arse
That seat makes it look more like an over engineered Clag Gone to me but at grossly inflated price.

As well as being far far cheaper at 299.99 The original clag gone has a certain minimalist virtue
and the industrial strength detergent applicator makes it a better thought out device and thus more useful and hygenic too.

It's actually doing a reasonably good job of being a Harley board track replica, circa 1920s, but the 125 motor fucks it, same as all the CG125 cafe racer wannabes - the whole point of those bikes was to go as fast as possible, the target was 100 mph, not 100 mpg Rolling Eyes

My guess is it's not wired up whatsoever, and they can't find the key, and they've realised what an absolute bag of spanners it is, and that if they were thick enough to endeavour with it, some other gullible mug will be, too.

Still, at least it's up for sensible (scrap) money not £5k first to see will buy!
