So my buddy had me put a bike in my name, he has been sent to prison and I am now the official owner. We lost the keys probably a year ago. I found and bought an ignition and gas cap with included matching keys. I attempted to change them today but found a problem, the new ignition has two wires orange and green the old ignition has 4 wires with a red coming out of somewhere soldered to a grey wire. Can anyone help me with finding what goes to what? I really thought it would be a simple swap. Also the intake had what I can only describe as socks over them as air filters. Really weird, I had never seen that before. Is it normal? I included some pics for clarification. Thank you.

If that is the stock ignition it came with which I highly doubt they do some ghetto electrical work at Aprilia.

Nobby is right there are more than one type and you got the wrong type. Go back online and find a 4-wire version see if it matches your colours.

Or see if the switch bottoms will swap over on the locks.
