When you read the article you can see why theme parks in general are something black people didn't feel comfortable in. Likewise dwarves and moles, I'd imagine. However, a Sesame Street theme park? Bare in mind that Sesame Street was possibly the most multi-racial thing on telly back in the 70s and was groundbreaking in that respect.

$25,000,000 for no high-five!!! Thank the lord we let them go their own sweet way in 1783. Shocked

More on the "every body is a beach ready body" fiasco:

Beach body ad edited out my prosthetic leg - model

My initial reaction to original story was "wow, atrocious photoshop job" but now I wonder if it's an elaborate troll. Something like a high level cunt third-wave feminist calling for this type of campaign - Antonia Morillas looks the sort - but the civil service have yet to be ideologically captured so they came up with deliberately shoddy work to discredit the whole idea.

<edit> ffs, arry beat me to the story by mere seconds Sad

I was watching Fox News bang on about an entire police force resigning Shocked The detail: 5 officers for a town of 2000. FFS, Fox, clickbait again Sad

I thought 5 for 2000 didn't sound like a lot but it actually works out as one officer per 400 citizens. I looked at a few of the regional police forces in the UK and funnily enough they also work out at one officer per 400~450... except Met Police that's more like one officer per 300 citizens.

Make of that what you will.

Hot on the heels of Posie Parker's brush with the law for upsetting kiddie fiddlers...

Moment army veteran is arrested 'for causing anxiety' after retweeting meme of swastika made out of Pride flags as force is condemned by its own crime commissioner for the 'proportionality and necessity' of its response

tl;dr half a dozen police officers, a van and hand cuffs necessary to cart away wrongthinker. "It didn't have to come to this..." no, he could have gone on a North Korean style re-education course which he'd have to pay for himself. Funding your own indoctrination, clever move.

Thing is this incident has now gone viral across the world so not only do we hang our heads in shame as our country spirals towards a fascist state everyone else is laughing at us too Sad

As I've stated before the problem we have with those people is they see the world through the lens of faith rather than reason and we are now at the point that fiddling with kids is overtly part of "love is love" and "all is permitted, nothing is forbidden."

Infamous god-botherer and intellectual James Lindsay has just been kicked off Twitter for labelling a Harvard professor as a "child sexualisation specialist" and one can only assume this was taken as the long form version of "Ok, groomer" which is now verboten.

It occurs to me the only two solutions are a) the woodchipper or b) to somehow snap them out of it: a Crisis of Faith. But how does one create a crisis of faith for an ideology as solid as mercury?

A gross oversimplification but a common crisis of faith for Christians is blaming God for some great travesty, e.g. the unexpected death of a loved one. The only equivalent I can think of might be news like George Soros suddenly turning his back Woke politics and fervently funding The Proud Boys* or Whoopi Goldberg quitting The View for her own show on Dailywire Plus.

Historically I'm wondering if there were any keen members of the Nazi Party who had a change of heart Thinking Were there people who changed their minds over Stalin? (According to Solzhenitsyn the "believers" thrown in camps never lost faith even to the point of death.)

When even "won't someone think of the children" takes on a new meaning are there any more depths to plumb?

*which he probably does anyway

I used to think that, just like any organised religion, there's only so long people can stomach it. But then I realised that really only applies to intelligent people, so all bets are off.

In other - headline busting news:

https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2022/08/03/demi-lovato-pronouns/

Yes, Demi (ironic name) Lovato has updated her pronouns.

Quote:

For the record: Demi Lovato did NOT say she is abandoning they/them as her pronouns, she simply said she is adding she/her. Please listen to the entire clip. Media friends, it’s important to get this right.
9:08 pm · 2 Aug 2022 from Los Angeles, CA·Twitter for iPhone

Yes, it's extremely important that we get this right.

So, do tell us Demi, what's so important in your life that you need to update your pronouns in your Twitter?

Quote:
“I’m such a fluid person when it comes to my gender, my sexuality, my music, my creativity.”

Last year [when she began using they/them pronouns], my energy was balanced in my masculine and feminine energy.”

“When I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom and it said, women and men, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessarily like a woman.

“Recently, I’ve been feeling more feminine, and so I’ve adopted she/her again. But I think what’s important is, like, nobody’s perfect.”

Like. Err. Like. Umm.

Can this get any more ridiculous?

Quote:
They’ve since updated their pronouns on Instagram to they/them/she/her.

Demi Lovato has long been open about their gender journey.

Surely they could have just used She/her, since she's updated her official what you're allowed to call her this week?

Quote:
She explained even she misgenders herself from time to time

That is so ironically true.

I remember when people used to think rather than, “like, feel.”

Anyway, a quick look at Demi Lovato’s song lyrics confirms she’s a dull narcissist with no stories to tell and lots of, ‘Pity me but admire my strength’ wailing. The pronouns nonsense is another obvious plea for attention. I guess it works.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62442061

Quote:
The Crown Prosecution Service suggests even one-off incidents of "cat-calling" could be classed as offences under existing public order laws.

The CPS warned of charges for "sexually threatening or abusive" comments.

"Feeling safe should not be a luxury for women," said Siobhan Blake, CPS lead for rape and serious offences.

The government is also considering stronger laws on street harassment. It has begun a consultation on extending existing legislation by making it an offence to cause "intentional harassment, alarm or distress" to someone because of their sex.

However, the Home Office at present believes existing criminal offences adequately deal with abusive public behaviour.

Tough one. As per usual what you're trying to legislate against versus what ends up being illegal are potentially two different things.

Who's to say what's sexually threatening? What is intentionally harassing someone? "Excuse me, I think you look absolutely fantastic in that dress"

This bit, though:

Quote:
The CPS said it had decided to review the advice it gives staff on the current laws because of a renewed focus on women's safety in public places, following cases such as the murder of Sarah Everard last year.

Everything is a narrative push and a scope creep. Using a murder victim as the sledgehammer to crack the nut is quite the underhand trick.

Women should feel safe? How about everyone feeling safe from tangible things like burglary or... I dunno... actual rape?

Graham Linehan has popped up on GB News regarding Father Ted The Musical. He sounds utterly depressed about the whole thing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CalmNsNQTfQ

Seems it's been rumbling a while but not in the mainstream press, because he's that cancelled.

https://www.nme.com/news/tv/father-ted-musical-axed-following-graham-linehans-controversial-views-3190721

Quote:
I’ve been thoroughly cancelled. I’ll tell you how cancelled I am, there were two programmes called Cancelled and I wasn’t on either of them… that’s how cancelled I am

I have to admire his tenacity.

Quote:
Linehan continued to voice his opinions on cancel culture. “Every comedian at the moment is living under a kind of state of permanent blackmail,” he said. “Every comedian knows that if they step on the wrong side of any particular line, it could be this or it could be any other number of things, there’s a few hot button issues where you have to follow a certain line and if you don’t, you’ll be destroyed.

This is a REALLY interesting point, as Leo Kearse had been speaking a while back about Comedy Unleashed - and popped back up over the last couple of days on the issue as there's been a huge Twitter backlash:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0dJ8A0ZmRg

We'll have to wait a bit longer for comedy to start being actually funny again, then, it seems.
