When you die, all the substance that makes you up will still exist, so nothing is dangerous beyond your own little reality, which is inconsequential ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I'm watching a YouTube series where a guy just starts from scratch: Ep1 - Flint Knapping, Ep2 - cold working float copper, etc.
The striking thing is at each stage, each jump in new technology, the time taken gets less and less. For example: splitting a log for kindling >15mins with a flint hand axe, <5 mins with a copper axe, <1 min with a modern steel axe. It goes back to the concept of technology = device for maximising leisure time. And yet here we are in the 21st Century and we just seem to be making work for ourselves! "Dangerous Memes?" nice, we can set up a whole journalistic team to pick them apart
A spreadsheet saves me breaking out a pen, paper and maybe a calculator. Social media? Well it could be a deluxe version of email or text messaging for communication but really it's just a time sink as if the whole thing's turned into an anti-technology ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
