Motorbike has been fine. Pop to my mother around 8 miles away all fine and it’s been fine before also. Then on the way back it was raining. Now only had this bike for around 4 weeks so only ridden in dry. But 5 to 10 mins in i loss power and it would not start. I stood under a tree for around 5 mins and it started but every time I rev it just loses power and conts out. I then got it started travel about 5 mins down the road and power loss again. I did get home with it after that but it was pretty rough going. Any ideas on what it could be. I am a newbie to the manual bike scene

We'll just assume for now that the symptoms are brought on from the rain. I would suggest trying the bike again when it's perfectly dry and see what the performance is like.

Damp points to some sort of electrical problem for example a damaged spark plug lead.

The stock YBRs have a collector under the right-side fuel tank air scoop, and a strip of molding around the front right side of the fuel tank (near the steering head) which acts as a dam to direct water into the collector. The purpose of the collector and dam is to keep water away from the ignition coil, located just behind the collector. If either of these parts are missing, it could be making your problem worse.

The collector is there, outlined on the photo in green. The collector drain tube outlined in gray. Don't know about the dam around the neck of the tank. Many people wonder what it's for, and why the weatherstrip molding is only on the right side of the neck.

I have learn something new. I sprayed the electric area and spark plug area with wd40, see a few say this on other post while looking for my problem. The rain wasn’t has bad this morning like it was last night but I had no problem riding today. So will have to see.

Possibly the coil getting the weather in then,
there's no fault code for that.
