Is any organisation, business or service currently NOT experiencing a high volume of calls?

Every f***ing phone call i make is greeted with that caveat. Almost without exception now.

You c*nts can't ALL be experiencing abnormal call volumes ALL the time!! Laughing

Automated voices should say "We are permanently understaffed and utterly unwilling to employ more people to deal with phone enquiries - but so is everyone else, and for that reason you can f***ing well lump it, pal. You ain't gonna hear any different from anyone else."

Abnormal call volumes are the not-very-new-normal. Voice should therefore say "We are currently experiencing an abnormally LOW volume of calls and a person will speak to you immediately. Please do not faint in shock."

TBH I'm more irritated by hearing "Your call is important to us" 134 times before someone picks up.

Plainly, it really isn't.

I find its anything council or anything government related that are the worst offenders. First to stop work for any reason and last back..and now theres a backlog and staff shortages, rightio!

I wonder how many of them have a revenue share non-geographic phone number... Like 0843, 0844, 0845, 0870 and 0871.

The longer these keep you on hold, the more money they make.

I've spoken to Vodafone and Samsung this week and both times (after wading through the menu options) I ended up speaking to a human instantly!

It's the same as the continued use of covid as an excuse....
