I am quite happy to admit I am a weird degenerate in many ways and a self-confessed cunt, but, I can't understand why anyone wants to dress-up and pretend to be a scum officer when he could have tried applying to be an actual scum, or at least the non-paid volunteer scum (Special Cunstables).

All kinds of weird in that. Why do it? To make people slow down around you? To pretend pull people over? Fucking weird.

My dad had a dark green Pan European (ST1100) back in the day when plod were using them. He may also have had a white lid, but no high-vis, stickers, lights or anything else that might have made him look like he was police.

But he said that traffic would regularly move out of his way if he came up briskly behind them, and they'd part like the red sea if he was filtering between lanes of traffic. He loved it, and he wasn't even trying, so I think that's the appeal.

I had a white 1500 Goldwing. An American import with the indicators on dim as running lights and a black and white helmet. Cars used to do the same for me and that bike looked more like a Yank cop bike than a British one. Big ariels might have helped. Laughing

Reminded me of something from my long ago trip to Asia.

"In a moment of ill-advised exhuberance... i decided to kick a buffalo poo that was sitting on the road. I had visions of it flying off like a football, but actually it just covered me, my leg, bike, and a couple of the people behind me in cowshit…"

Of the countless bikers I have seen on the road I have only ever seen one guy with one and I've only ever seen one guy riding without a helmet. I think the vest thing is pretty rare in the motorcyclist world.

I see plenty everyday, byke life scummers on scramblers and quads.

Oh to be fair I see loads of people on quads without helmets but I don't think they are required to wear any. Even the kids I see going about illegally on dirt bikes all wear helmets Laughing
