Bike Stop in Stevenage

I always feel like I'm being judged slightly in that place. I don't really fit into any biking category, I don't have expensive gear, my bike hasn't had the accessories catalogue thrown at it and the bike itself is getting on a bit so they automatically assume I'm not spending big bucks.
I guess you could say I'm more of a J&S kind of chap.

I’m old enough not to care. I ride two 20-year old sportsbikes all year round (well, almost) and yes, the bay outside is full of modern bikes but the staff are generally interested in what you ride regardless, and I always figure when I finally turn up to replace my premium but battered kit I’m the ‘real’ biker among the moccachino-buying, new bike posers. They’re not all like that, admittedly. Today there was a mud-covered Ducati Scrambler. Amazing!

Also I do my research and go in knowing exactly what I want, maybe with a shortlist.

Today I did mostly buy a box of Lemsips for the Senior Consort, but also a couple of little treats for him in his cupboards like caramel digestives and a packet of cheesy biscuits. Cos I gave him the 'rona and I wanted him to have some little treats for himself when he feels extra unwell.

So, to Bike Stop in Stevenage for the next version (R3) of the same glove, again in black. These are slightly restyled and feel a bit wider across the palm, whereas I recall the R2s caused some pain there until well worn in.

First use today, but as I recall the wrist strap on the old pair had a Velcro-free tip and these have no such pull tab. Consequently when I arrived at work I had great difficulty loosening them, not helped by steamed-up glasses. I was beginning to wonder whether I’d have to collar someone in the multi-storey and ask them to undo me.

That’s a lot of cooking utensils. I’m pretty sure I survived three years of Uni on SU pasties and beer.

I see no cheese grater.
Although a vegetable peeler has good effect on cheese.

I thought she blamed it all on you? Laughing

It was all rather regrettable though which tends to happen when sambuca is involved.

At the time she blamed me simply because I wasn't there to prevent it but quite frankly I'm surprised you are allowed anywhere near the house.

My second box of Howard Leight Laser Lite ear plugs (200 pairs) in 24 years of riding. Each pair is used multiple times, obviously. They suppress damaging high frequency noise like the wind across the helmet, but also have the side-effect of making the bike sound more bassy and less rattly. Very comfortable too.

Few Ale, because I got up to late to go to Aldi.

My favourite, is buying them at 0700, when hanging like hell, after a night shift. And getting 'look' from people just starting the day.

Yep am off to drink Ale, the sleep until 2000, whilst you are at work.
