My TV understands FAT 32 and NTFS. Mac won't natively format to NTFS, no option for it. I have ex-fat but my TV just shrugs and won't read the USB. Using FAT 32 is no good as the 2160 files I put on there are 5 gig+.

I've tried Paragon but it makes the USB read only I can only view it not write to it. Anyone know how I can do this?

Run Windows via Bootcamp or get a friend to do it. Do you have friends?

Or use the terminal:

https://toolbox.easeus.com/ntfs-mac-tips/format-disk-to-ntfs-on-mac-using-terminal.html

(I don't use Crapple stuff, but found that via search engine)

I know feck all about MAC OS n stuff but
What about giving it to a windows or linux user who can run it through
say Partition Magic or similar and format it to NTFS for you?

I have PM and see I could easily format drives to all manner of systems
fat32, ntfs, exfat ext 2/3/4

Edit just found this

https://www.partitionmagicmac.com/

"The file system only supports FAT32 format." was written on page 55,
does it understand NTFS too?

It does understand NTFS. The way around it is just format it FAT32 and keep film sizes less that 4GB.

In a word no. You can bodge it to format it as NTFS but it's useless as you cannot write to the disk, no amount of admin rights will allow it.

Wow, different circles! I'm thinking of all the people I could just turn up on, Saturday night half pissed, and they'd either have a Windows PC/laptop or Linux Thinking
