In my opinion if there’s a report that a so called ‘celebrity’ is doing something the press shouldn’t need to describe them. ‘The model, 27 was wearing a strapless bikini…’ ‘The internet influencer, 17, was seen out walking with a friend’…
If they aren’t famous enough for people to recognise who they are from their name without being told then they’re not deserving of all the coverage in my opinion - and that’s without my regular rant over ‘influencers’ anyhow!

It's not celebrities that are the problem, it's the newspapers. People get their news online now, so newspapers have to do all sorts of junk to try to stay relevant. IMO they should all be consigned to the dustbin of history.

Big media (national newspapers, TV channels) might be hanging on by their fingertips but it's the local rags that have really gone down the tubes. Something like the "St. Austell Voice" barely has anything about the town in it and has plenty of filler lifestyle articles that could have been lifted from anywhere.

If I have to google them, they're not celebrities.
That's my rule.

Household name - regardless of reason for being such - automatically confers "celebrity" status (including heinous murderers) - e.g. the celebrated Dr Crippen. There was nothing to celebrate about his misdeeds. But you know his name. His surname is enough to invoke the knowledge of who he is.

* Who was first to Everest - Hillary
Self effacing fellow, rarely looked for the limelight other than to support his Nepalese hospitals and schools

* Who was first man on the moon - Armstrong
Same, mostly just got on with his life after being famous

*Who is that fat gobby Essex bird that wouldn't go on celebrity jungle whats-it and threw a strop?
No fucking idea. I remember the strop she threw, and the fishwifey voice, but the name - no idea. Not a celebrity to me.

I had to google "Big Zuu" last month. WTF ...never heard of him.
Have now. Rolling Eyes

Celebrity doesn't mean someone worthy (increasingly obvious as the decades pass!) ... it just means someone SO FAMOUS that everybody knows who they are (and why).

Possibly thats a bit too simplistic, but it works for me. Usually Shifty

I think it should be legal to hunt and shoot anyone referring to themselves as a 'celebrity' unless they have a discernable talent. Imagine the fun!

Trumps an idiot. An idiot who has some good ideas but still an idiot.

Anyway, I was thinking more of certain UK politicians.

Lock em all in a dark room and throw a knife in......

Its appalling how many vacuous gobshites with fake tans, tits
and turkish teeth have infected the media.
Add wailing woke wankers and narcissists on yewchube and social media too.
It really does feel you have wear virtual wellies, gloves and PPE
while trawling through mountains of shite to find the good stuff nowadays

A useful place for me to rant about Saturday's episode of Pointless.

I like the format of the show, even if the BBC's idea of a 'Jackpot' is ludicrous. Celebrities' compete in pairs to win £1,250 each for their charity. (Meanwhile appearance fee is £ Tut Tut )

Anyhow, this episode so blatantly attempted to be woke it wasn't even funny. The 'Celebrities' were music/socialite/influencer/Love Island . Most of them were from a BAME background.

It was actually painful how stupid they were. There was even a music round which they all did sh1te at. The two girls complained that the questions were too hard. (In the 'spots' round, they had questions such as "what creature comes in varieties with 2 and 7 spots", "which planet has a great red spot", etc." . Response .. "ermm can't answer any of these". etc.

All in all, not a great advert Sad

Haw.... What about tagging that post NSFW?

I know a celebrity off of bad who was ban hammered into the stone age by the bcf board for less.

He probably had it coming for other irregularities in his posting. Embarassed
