Quick spin out over the Snake, then down across the Peaks and Derby Dales before a quick coffee stop at the C&F. Found a cave to take photos in too Very Happy

No bike photos sadly as we didn't really stop much, but a 200 mile blast yesterday on the Viffer across Cheshire, into Wales, Horseshoe Pass, out towards Barmouth then back across Shropshire. Two minor issues, but see gears ground for that. Can really see the compound change between the centre and the shoulders on the Road 5s when I got back - I do like these tyres a lot!

That’s the compound boundary - maybe it’s like that so the transition is gradual as you tip over, ie a mix of the two compounds where it’s wavy before going to the soft shoulder compound / harder centre compound?

600 miles to a tyre!! I hope it was fun!

Duxford ‘Battle of Britain’ air show. The planes were good but nature outshone them all with the best rainbow I’ve ever seen. It lasted half an hour or so as well. Amazing.

On the way home I was nearly taken out by a spinning traffic cone hit by a biker filtering the other way. In fact he knocked two cones over. Sometimes it’s best just to get in line.

Resuming my obsession with things that fly I visited the RAF Museum in NW9. Some cool aircraft I’d never seen before.

I didn’t take many pictures (backgrounds were cluttered) but here’s one because it’s a picture thread (Wink), a pod-fuselage, twin fin, French Caudron G3 from 1914-16.

https://i.postimg.cc/bwYh3F7r/E2-D27358-876-A-49-DF-BB1-F-DBCA23714-CB9.jpg

However my overriding impression from the trip was what a dump North London is.

Excellent filtering opportunities up the A1(M) though. Very Happy

If you like that sort of thing, see if you can get yourself a guided tour of Stow Maries - nice lanes to get out there, and a really nice place to look around.

Over the past week I have been over in Kefalonia having a bit of me time.

Hired the most powerful two wheeled machine available. Beast Mode Activated.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52389547902_3675e969b0_c.jpg

Then just spanked it around for 400 miles over 4 days having fun up and down the mountains and off the beaten tracks a bit.

Second time I've done this. Still just as enjoyable. Kefalonia is a very pretty place with some dramatic views.

In a slight contrast to Kefalonia, I spent the first few hours of yesterday whizzing around the Peaks on the C90. Brekkie at the Yonderman which seemed to have some sort of microclimate going on; as I dropped down to it the temperature dropped very noticeably and frost appeared everywhere! Literally a "frost hollow". When I left, it meant as I climbed out towards Millers Dale, the bike suddenly was covered in condensation as it had chilled while I was at the cafe. I then popped into a cave for a photo, as you do . . .

I've not been out much as I've had an absolute mare of a few weekends, but I did get up to TTT Motorcycles in Sudbury with a mate of mine from Cambridge ish - met at Finchingfield and went across to Suffolk from there.

Decent breakfast at TTT - it was a buffet, so you pays your money, and you literally pile the plate up with whatever is on the buffet cart takes your fancy.

Didn't get any pics in there but there was this little curio outside:

Haven't seen one in years. Was in really good nick Thumbs Up

Something about the KTM 990 Vtwin I really like, and that bike suits my riding up here very well, apart from the tiny fuel tank. Gives lots of confidence.

bumped into a 990 owner today at withernsea - chatted for a bit; i messaged someone selling a 950SM on ebay earlier in the week, wants £3.5k for it. I thought hmm if it's a two owner bike and he's had it for 5 years, I might go for it. But no - 7 owners and he's had it 6 months iirc.

The B1242 is arguably the best road in the county.

Home from Fowlers, I was waiting on my tail tidy to arrive. Once it came out to see a pal nearby who wanted to see the new steed. Thumbs Up

That’ll be lovely when it’s finished. Wink

Seriously I like it (never been) but it looks surreal.

yeah it's just a daft bit of folly/promenade on the EY coast. The town itself isn't up to much either - similar to Hornsea, itself a tiny version of Bridlington.

Nope. B4391, Llynclys to Ffestiniog. No matter what you have, ER5 to Fireblade, it's fucking epic. I will fight over this.

It is. He didn't even ride the best bit of it, from Bala to Llynclys.

You can fight over it if you want - but last time I looked Ffestiniog wasn't in the East Riding. Mr. Green

100 mile bimble - MaccyD brekkie, meet up with other Meteor owners in Melton Mowbray, then off to a dealer in Bozeat to look at the toys. Decent weather and dry roads, not too shabby Smile
