Some wheels on ebay caught my eye but there seems to be a slight flat spot on one. Reparable? Costly??

DIY.

Edit: N.B. make sure you see pictures of the wheel from various angles AND from the other side! It might be fsck'd where you can't see it.

Slight?

I wouldn't even consider presenting that to my MOT guy because he'd just laugh at me and my bike passed without even an advisory today.

I would pass. There is a reason for the sellers all caps disclosure. He knows those wheels are dangerous and worthless.

Mt A100man I believe intends to warm up the rim with his gas until spit bounces off, then cramp it up in his vice until it's straight, then spray it with black paint.

Perhaps, considering he's got a biike which had wire wheels, the nexr step is......

Beard oil.

Nice reply Very Happy .
As i remember a lot of wheels of this era seemed to develop cracks even without impact damage, looks like a bit of a minefield to me.

This is not surprising. Ebay is insane currently. I sold a well-used item of ikea furniture for 75% of it's new price.
