went out for a spot of dinner with the wench tuesday, and wandering round the Christmas displays after, there were these things called gonks for sale all over the place. wench tells me they are quite popular this year.
wtf are they and where do they come from?

When I was a kid, gonks were some kinda weird knitted things, like a sock knitted by your auntie and then stuffed with, I dunno, teddybear stuffing or something - and they had googly eyes, and legs and arms which were plaited wool.

Never mind the gonks, what's with all the 'elves on shelves'? Creepy little feckers with the sole purpose of giving children guilt.
