Hello all,

New here and excited to learn how to restore.my first bike

I picked up a gpz600r 1985 and want to enjoy doing a bolt.up restoration. I have begun pulling it apart and notice lots of bits missing.

The main thing i notices.is the battery bracket is not there. I have tried to find one and its impossible. Does.anyone know if there is a.resource online that specs.out part.dimensions so i can have one fabricated maybe? Or.has anyone had this done for.their missing one?

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you

Mike

Is it like this one?

Couple of good pictures there. You know the distance between the hole centres so you could probably make up a reasonable working sketch based on that known measurement.

Yes, CAD (cardboard assisted design) is a mainstay of bracket making.Cereal boxes are best, corrugated stuff doesn't bend where you tell it to.

Once you have ytour template, you can flatten it out and draw round it or measure it up and stick it into a computer system to upload to get someone else to cut it out with a waterjet or similar.
