After 3 shouting matches and 1 losing the will to live episode I'm back from the Old Country!

The house is near the Eden Project but fuck that, behold "The Pyramid"

And in a similar vein this is the view next door to the house:

There's fuck all chance of my mum packing up her life before the moving date so I'm probably looking at another week down there soon.

Went to buy something and couldn't find my debit card, so used PayPal which I rarely use now, and there was a £5 off coupon automatically applied by PayPal Dance!

Worth checking your account if you've not used PayPal in a bit.

It's not a patch on the Radstock volcano.

No but it's historically important being the first mountain where contours were mapped as a part of an experiment to determine the mean density of the Earth in the 18th century.

But if it's man made hills you're looking for then the shale bings around Edinburgh take some beating...

Yeah, but were they ever used as a big billboard against the Rees-Mogg thing?

(It's in his constituency)

No, if the Scots had used the bings for anything to do with the malignant stick insect, it would have been a burial.

We turned up at our local in Coleford (about 4 miles away from the volcano) dickered in paint on the turn of the decade to 1990 just before last orders.

When asked what we had been up to, we said we were painting a mate's house.

The next morning the volcano was on sky TV, 'NO POLL TAX' in 12' letters in a incredibly similar colour as the paint we were covered in the night before...

My weirdly swollen and bruised feeling feet and ankles have died down enough for me to be able to see the veins
on the top of my feet like I'm normally able to. I've been quite uncomfortable the last week or so.

No redness so I don't think so... They feel sort of bruised but aren't, they're a bit better again today. I was reading
a few articles claiming Skechers shoes can cause foot and ankle issues by virtue of being too soft and bouncy and
not supportive enough. I haven't worn my pair at all for about 5 days now and my feet are almost back to normal.
Could it be the footwear?

Tends to cause swelling of the joints rather than the soft tissues (although they swell too), usually the big toe. And you wouldn't be complaining about it being "Quite uncomfortable", more "Agonisingly painful".

I mostly wear Vans and they offer zero support - basically a thin flat sheet of hard rubber - and outside the Cellulitis my feet have been fine.

I tend to favour skate style shoes myself as a rule. Never had any issues with flat, firm soled shoes in day to day wear.
Wearing Puma Suede as I type this and they are super comfortable and especially good to drive in.

Parisians vote to ban e-scoots from Paris.

Cool

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/apr/02/parisians-vote-on-banning-e-scooters-from-french-capital

I spent a week in Nice last summer.

It's treacherous trying to walk anywhere.

Ars-wholes on e-scooters flying around everywhere.

It's not the e-scootering that is the problem, it's the basic fact that probably none of the bastirts have any training, licence or insurance.

Crikey, I thought the french were very tolerant of each others transport choices. Mind you its a few years since I was in Paris and the escooter thing was quite new.

Saved my mum's old land-line number! Considering it's been in continual use since 1965 quite a save. I've got it to redirect to her mobile for now and once she's moved we can redirect it to the new landline.

I have my old BT landline number on my VoIP service. It's just a matter of asking for a PAC Thumbs Up
