I have my old BT landline number on my VoIP service. It's just a matter of asking for a PAC Thumbs Up

It's one of those light-bulb moments. My office line had been VoIP for donkeys' years but it was an offhand comment someone said to my mum about the landline being cut off when she moved. "Fuck that!" chimed in my subconscious Smile

OFCOM have done some stuff to make it as easy as mobile PACs from this month but I had to transfer under the old system. The existing service provider (Shell Energy Broadband) only had one question to answer: who provides the lines? "BT!" they said, but that was a lie Sad It's actually TalkTalk but it only slowed up the transfer process by a day.

The new OFCOM system should allow you to transfer a number up to 30 days after the original line was ceased and stop service providers dicking-about out of spite.

well I can but it wouldn't be wise. Maybe tomorrow if it's still sunny.

The nine year old nephew just facetimed me for the first time ever on his new (second hand) mobile phone.
I took the call and he just sat there saying nothing so I said "You have to speak as well...." He pipes up with
"I thought I was calling Mum" to which I replied "No mate I think you called someone else..." he responded with
"Someone else deez nuts...." and hung up.

Little prick Laughing

Lovely.... Thumbs Up I haven't had a roast dinner since Christmas. I don't tend to cook them at home as it's just me and that's
a lot of faff for one person. I should really unfold a £20 and go to the pub for one though.

Kayaking club make it happen by making sure the winning duck is identified and all the losing ones don't end up in Bristol harbour.

Not always the easiest task. I bet they get into some tight spots. When I'm out in the canoe, I try to pick up every ball I see, kind of as a challenge to see if I can get to them. Some I just have to leave where they are.

The really odd thing now I think about it is you'd imagine I'd have an enormous collection of mouldy balls by now. It's rare you don't pick up at least a couple but they seem to disappear of their own accord. Next doors kid always wants any rugby or footballs that are in good nick but the rubbish ones and tennis balls also seem to disappear too. I wonder if the other neighbours pack of feral kids and dogs snag them from the gorilla bucket in the front garden when I'm at work.

Took us an hour and a half in total to first set up a rope with cylindrical lengths of foam around it which was meant to catch all the ducks about 20 meters after the finish. Which happened to be in one of the faster bits of the river so maneuvering across the river whilst holding the rope was made interesting by the flow. For someone to tie the end to a branch on the other side we had to each position ourselves along the rope with the front of our boats under the rope spaced out enough that the bits of foam were held out of the water so it was possible to get enough slack to tie a knot.

It caught lots of the ducks which we started to collect however the rope broke and set hundreds and hundreds of ducks free with the continued stream of the losing ducks still arriving as well. Laughing That was an opportunity to spend some time playing by moving the boat around in the fast moving water to pick up ducks as they arrived. Further down stream you could turn your boat across the current to catch multiple ducks at the same time. Ones stuck along the edges of the river can, as stinkwheel says, be quite awkward to reach so that's more fun to work out.

Took 7 boats an hour and a half. Laughing
