Last thing you bought - thread load time

In other forums with long running threads they used to archive them after a set number of posts, arbitrary number..make it up.
Discussion was about mysql and slow threads.(mysql threads..not forum threads)

I'm currently unable to view that thread about thing people bought on here...possibly same issues....just spins the wheel of waiting doom on the browser

Maybe it should be locked and a Part 2 created?

hmm..its only the latest page that does this thing..previous pages load fine.

There's a disparity between the number of pages the forum thinks there are in a thread and the number of posts it would take to fill those pages. The page that's taking ages to load probably has no content. Once a couple more people have replied to the thread, there will be something to see on that page.

If you wait long enough it comes up with an error message saying there is no data on the requested page.

It seems to happen with all the very long threads. I split a few of the bigger ones and archived the old bits a while ago but it's a faff and didn't really work. It's obviously a bug in the forum software. Only Korn would be able to fix it and he's not really been all that interested in the forum for a long time now.

If you get that lag on a long thread, the last post is actually on the second from last page

If it doesn't load up more or less straight away then I click the page before and it's usually fine, I do post pretty
often in that thread. It's not the biggest inconvenience really.
