Edit: Apparently it's a cat C/D. I really cannot see what is broken but by the same token it's blinding me with its ugly.

Unless the insurer thinks it was crashed through a branch of Claires....

Nah, I see similarities in style with 1930s Indians and 1930s HD Shovelheads, but not with that 2-wheeled car (which is, admittedly, probably a brilliant cross-continental tourer).

As for the GPZ305 - questionable bike even in its original form. I think Kawasaki (unlike Honda) didn't really give a shit about its smaller bikes in the 70s and 80s. It competed at the top, and sold the image by styling its "affordable" products to vaguely resemble the good bikes (GPZ 550, 750, 900, 1100, etc.) My Z200 came with a (factory) formed elastic band rather than a bolt to hold the tank to the frame... I think that says it all.

The frame on the 305 looks ideal for an experimental electric conversion. Nice big area inside, two rails at the bottom to mount the motor and enough space left for some batteries and a controller.

Even better, if the whole project never gets finished, you've only taken a 305 off the road.

No number plate light I see and I don't think its old enough to qualify for
a silver/black plate which AFAIK should be on the offside if not centred
the last MOT in 2011 shows it had done 44 thou back then.
its a load of crap anyway
My old bike was historical, but I stuck an MOT on it anyway pre selling it
to prove it had been independently checked for road worthiness.
I wonder how much crap like this is sold unfit for purpose.

Most of these piss-poor 'Cafe Racers' seem to end up on eBay in an unroadworthy state. Usually the builder has spunked all the available budget on turd polishing, at the cost of neglecting the mechanicals.

This bloke doesn't even appear too good at the former, either - the paint job looks like rattle cans, nicely topped off with a £1 eBay sticker Rolling Eyes He's managed to blow two grand on that, without attending to the one upgrade that would have been worth it, namely a front brake that'll work when it rains...

I noticed the builder swapped the original lovely lovely Comstar wheels for spokes
When A100man sees that travesty he'll lose his shit.

So if I've understood this correctly: he's taken his RSV to bits, stuck the swingarm and forks to a new frame, got to the bit where he has to figure out how to stick the big oily thing that makes it go into said different frame, and given up. Pretty sure I don't need that sort of aggro (or trying to register/insure it?), even if he was giving me two grand...

Oh, and I know trike projects are pretty low hanging fruit for this sort of a thread, but I thought it worth posting this as a fantastic example of a photo that actively encourages you not to buy the machine on offer:
