Hi

My daughter has a 2015 Yamaha ybr125 custom with a damaged head , exhaust bolts snapped and then tap snapped.
So , trying to get a new head but they keep quoting model codes. How do we figure out which one we have ?

Thanks , Adam

You're problem is that there is no 2015 YBR. It's probably a 2014 one registered in 2015.

normally something like the first couple of numbers/letters of the engine number/frame number is the model code
if theres a hyphen somewhere, the numbers you want are the ones before the hyphen..

at the very least, given the engine number, the service department would be in a position to tell you which of their products you bought (quick google seems to indicate its 51D3)

(as with all "rules", theres exceptions)

I've swapped a few YBR engines and parts and the only detail I paid
any attention to was if it was an EFI type not the earlier carbed one

I'm pretty sure the 2008 to 2014 YBRs used the same engine with EFI
but pre 2010 ones had a kick start as well as an electric starter

I was told to look for (and found) a white label on the cross member of the subframe unit of my Yamaha. (‘5PW’ but it’s a different model to yours, and older than 2015.) I’m not sure if it’s a standard Yamaha thing. Lift the seat and take a look.
