I’d just put them back on if you took them off. Then help him sell them if thats what he needs

Awkward..

- how much time did you spend?
- is he a good friend?

at first sight it sounds like he's being a twat but we haven't heard his side. I'd be inclined to put them back and leave him to cool off.

All depends on perspective.

From his point of view he had three bike he was wanting rid of, you said you'd have them, came over and fucked about with them, partially dismantled one of them then decided against it, leaving ne of them in bits.

So now he has two bikes and one partially dismantled bike to get rid of. I can see how that would be annoying.

Complete bikes sell better because at least you know everything is there. Bikes which are sat in bits with the owner saying it's all there and can be easily put back together ring alarm bells because if it was easily put back together, why hasn't it been?

You effectively turned a complete non-runner into a basket case.

So you took things apart and now don't want to put them back together?

When you started taking it apart, did you have any intention of putting it back together or was the plan to always just leave the bike in bits?

I know a guy who does shit like that all the time. Buys stuff as a project, takes it apart, then loses interest and leaves it lying.

He's successfully turned tens of thousands of pounds of classic cars into scrap metal that way because he reckons that if it cost him £2k as a rolling project, it should be worth the same as a heap of bits someone has to put into buckets and work out where they go. He then takes the hump when someone offers him £500 for it and just leaves it to rot.

At least when Mike Brewer devalues your stuff, he just kicks tyres

rather than creating more work and putting off potential buyers

I'd say you were a bad friend.

Whoever buys them will take them off again anyway so don't see the point plus they'll see it in it's true state the way it is.

Sounds like you came here to get confirmation that you aren't a complete knob but the consensus is the opposite.

Flounce in 3, 2,....

No good deed goes unpunished Rolling Eyes

TBH if they weren't running and you thought you could get some or all of them running the last thing you want to do is see if you can get them going on the guy's drive so to speak. Better to drag them away and pay the "non-runners" price I'd have thought or is that a bit mercenary of me?

When did you work out you didn't have the space for them? Before you got there or half way through working on them?!

Not quite surewhat this is supposed to mean but presumably something offensive probably relating to my mother and/or my parentage.

To be honest no fucks given here. You're just a typical tosser who's quick to anger. Enjoy being so worthless where mechanical stuff is concerned that you didn't even get paid for that job which is why you fucked off having a hissy fit without putting the last one back together.

TBH you were really easy to trigger. Fish in a barrel easy. Literally not worth me actually putting in effort to wind you up further because it's just too easy to do.

It still sounds like a highly advanced case of tyre-kicking.

I will admit to having done a "If I can get it running well enough to ride away, I'll buy it." deal with someone before. Mainly because I was a) Skint and b) Had no way of moving it without riding it away.

Thing is, when I got it running, I bought it and rode it away. If I hadn't got it running, I would have left it as I found it.

Now, if I could get you riled that would be worth my time, but a tiddler like that? Waste of bait.
