Got this ready to play when the bike racing finishes today.

A little ambient with a dash of experimental.

Today, a lot of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQQbjpomexo Seals & Crofts - Summer Breeze; and this https://youtu.be/Qg3dF02FQVM?t=4 Faces - Ooh La La; oh and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjpF8ukSrvk Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here ... and so on.

I recently got back to playing guitar, so I'm re-learning all the stuff I used to know.

Dave Strickson has put together this Peel Session archive.

Find your fancy and the band link plays the session.

Shame the Strokes' session isn't there - the Peel versions of those tracks were so much better to the ones on Is This It

the I Am Kloot session was really good - worth a listen, iirc it's on youtube

the lack of Fall sessions is a bit mind blowing as well

the version of River Man is really good in the Nick Drake session, imo

fwiw, one of my fave peel sessions was always the Nico one w/ frozen warnings and janitor of lunacy etc on it, from 1971 - those two are so much better than the Cale produced versions

I'm listening to Robert Glenister reading The Ink Black Heart on Audible.
He's done the whole series of Cormoran Strike novels, and I've been listening to them on-and-off since long before it got onto the telly.

He's terribly good.
Sometimes I forget that he's just one person doing a load of voices.

I like the Audible series, much better than the TV programme. Cormoran and Robyn are both much better looking in my mind's eye than the telly versions Laughing

What do you think of Green (from '78 iirc)? I really rate it, and i'm not usually into prog of any stripe, let alone the intergenerational motherships of quarg 9 kind of prog.

^^^Green is great too. The change in players...that is to say not a Gong backing band really makes it more of a Hillage LP.

Gotta love S.H. The master of Gliss and the Om riff.
Superb guitar player from the 60s that embraced the changes.

In the early 90's there was a psychedelic revival festival in Bath. Most people went to watch the Ozrics, those of us in the know went to watch Gong as well.

As I'm sure you can imagine, a lot of bewielderment ensued....

Would you like a cup of tea?
