is it required on modern bikes?
my wench bought a Liv road bike a few years ago but since retiring in spring of 22 the bike has been sat in the garage unused.
do they require servicing/maintaining?
i have a can of GT85 at the ready, what a smell ____________________ current bike Yamaha Thunderace.
its old and fat, but its a damned good ride. the bikes not bad either. |

Cleaning and lubing shifters, chain, wheel bearings and checking the bearings and various parts are properly tightened. Adjusting the shifters as necessary. Check brake pads for wear. Maybe give the wheels a true-up or at least a check.
Not sure what sort of bottom bracket they have, many are sealed these days so just need to be not loose. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Yes bikes need maintenance, how much and what will depend on how the bike has been used.

Preventative servicing is preferable to fixing stuff when it breaks or stops working properly. |

the bike was just used to cycle to work and back on the road. about a mile each way. ____________________ current bike Yamaha Thunderace.
