Sup.

So basically thinking of downgrading bikes from a 1200cc to a 125cc..
Compared insurance costs my old bike was £170 to insure fully comp.. But the cost to insure a new 125cc bike is £304.... Am I doing something wrong lol?

It's because 125s are in more accidents.

And more frequently stolen.

Have a look at one of the 350cc enfields, comparable performance and economy to a 125 with a bit more oomph for hills/headwinds. I bet they're cheap to insure.

I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles.

Where are you?

I have just had my renewal quote through on 125 and it’s £60, down from £95 ish last time. Quote was from Swindon via a comparison site.

swinton seem competitive just now but you might get a better quote through a broker even though policy is still with them.
I have an XSR700 and CRF - newer bigger bike is cheaper to insure than 10 year old CRF250L worth less than half as much. It does have proper immobiliser though.
