I'm re-discovering Paul Gilbert and his solo work, listening through my fancy Sennheiser HD660S open back headphones, and in the past few days I went through the ''Get out of my yard'' and ''Fuzz universe'' albums and his ''Space Ship One'' project with always excellent Marco Minnemann playing the drums. Minnemann's drum solo in the song ''Jackhammer'' on the ''Space Ship One'' album is still very impressive and very enjoyable to listen to.

Paul Gilbert is more known for his years in the Mr. Big and Racer X, then he got into teaching guitar and into his own solo career. His guitar playing is still very characteristic with a signature way of guitar picking.
