Hi all,

Got a very unwanted buzzing noise from my transmission when i 'lightly' rev the bike... This is all in neutral for ref.

Initially I thought go to for the easy parts first of all. I removed the clutch plates, noise gone. Conclusion = worn plates....

New steel and friction plates installed today, the buzzing has returned... Weirdly perhaps its when i lean the bike over to the left....

Took them out again, no buzzing. So I'm thinking its a load issue on the basket? I.e. with a full basket, as the revs increase something with the basket is letting go... I'm not thinking gearbox at this point as I've not put it in gear, when i have there are no additional issues.

Would a rattling/knackered basket spring could this sort of noise? I know! without hearing it, its hard to tell... Laughing

Thanks for all sensible replies! Very Happy

You want sensible replies? how about making a sensible post
saying what bike you have.
You know model, age, mileage, stuff like that.
Everyone has a camera on their phones nowadays and seem to be constantly sharing shit pics on friend face etc, but you can't arsed to make one of a bike issue.

you don't deserve sensible replies

Well basket springs are a good starter for 10. So are they loose? The clutch basket on my VFR sounds like a pair of maraccas when you shake it.

I was waiting for Nobby to offer advice but WD took up the Challenge.

Thank you BCF's Stalwarts of Clear and Concise posting.
