In my dreams I will one day have a modern bike like a Trident 660.. and so I browse ebay.

Saw this one and thought ..Cat N write off? How Come??

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126072067413

The seller shows the parts replaced to return it to 'as before' condition and it seems a very small amount compared to the 5k value of the bike, so why write off?

I wouldn't have even involved the isurance company for that so unless the prvious owner had to have it repaired to factory spec for some reason I cannot see why.

Could he have needed some plastic as well? or a paint job?

There's no chance at all that the salvage yard people who decided it should be written off did so because they would make a tidy profit by buying the cat N write off bike from the insurance company and then reselling it.

Looks like a very reasonable deal. Good if you keep the bike for a good amount of time.

Do it! Do it! Buy it and post pics. That's what I do.

I'm going to raise you the salvage Cuntpanies on the same bus as the insurers, for when it comes down to Hanky-Panky
