For sale is my 3040 desktop CNC
with control box and cables.

I just upgraded to a 4 axis USB machine and dont have the room to keep this one and it's been stowed away after being cleaned and checked.

This would be a great and affordable way to play about with cnc milling and engraving and learn the methods involved before investing in much more expensive equipment.

Its used obviously and has the scars to prove it, but still eminently useable and the "Bristol" pics show the last project I did in April this year before swapping to my new one.
I'm doing a 'carve and fill' technique on a box lid where the machine carves out the image which is then filled with pigmented resin then sanded flat and varnished.

I have a whole gallery of things I've made but as it would take up too much space, I've added a few example pics of various projects I've done on materials like Solid wood,Hardboard, Acrylic and Aluminium.
I've also made a few gaskets for motorbike engines and PCB's for bespoke projects.

Specs:
Overall dimensions:(near as)
55Cm or 25" long
48CM or 19" wide
40Cm or 16" high

It has useable working/cutting area equivalent to an A3 sheet or 11"x14" or 380mmx290mm. and 3" or75m in height under the gantry.
The spindle uses ER11 collets so will take bits up to 6mm in diameter.
Tool sizes and feedrates are limited to the material being machined and power of the spindle of course.
This spindle is new and 'nominally' 500W but I'm not sure
of its actual power only that it works.

This machine ran on a modest spec PC running win7/32 with a 25 pin parallel port and I used MACH3 for motion control.

There various other options for CNC control and design so
I wont go into depth here especially as some folk may already have their own preferences.
But
If someone wants a 'plug and play' device.
I can configure a PC with a parallel port with all the software needed and configuration setup or even supply a PC and 20" Dell monitor with everything ready to run at additional cost.
The emergency stop button got knocked and broken ages ago and as I never used it, I didn't bother to fit a new one but the 2 wires are tucked inside so one could easily be fitted if desired.
The spindle holder has a 54mm fitting so I made shim to take the more common and easier to find 52mm spindle motors
This is included in the bag of cables.
