I'm going for a test ride tomorrow on a Super Meteor. Very Happy Looking forward to it. It will be interesting to see how it rides. I read in a review that it delivers almost 80% of its torque at 2500 rpm. Did someone on here have an Interceptor?

I'm also thinking about selling the 400. I've had a couple of years of fun on it and could use the money to fund other mid life crisis ideas. It's much fun but not entirely practical. I was getting to the point where I was being a bit over eager with the engine on a constant basis, You've got to work the engine really high up in the rev range to get the rush. I am always scared of blowing the engine in the little thing. Also killing my shoulders and neck after a couple of hours.

Anyway got the Street Triple for fun, not been out in it for ages so will feel like a new bike.

Didn't like the Royal Enfield just had a bit too much chrome and felt large. How dare they put chrome on a cruiser.

Went to see a Vulcan S, didn't like the look of it so never arranged a test ride.

So I went back to the Honda garage and couldn't help myself. Pick it up on the 23rd.

Does anyone want to buy a CBR400RR? Laughing

Oh don't say that I've hummed and hawed about whether to get the special edition with the brown seats. Oh well, I like it. But then I drive a mustard coloured car and have a white leather jacket what would I know. Laughing

Probably trade it in for the CMX1100 in a couple of months knowing me.

The Rebel 500 Facebook page is full of females. It's a breath of fresh air. Do I feel my feminine side protruding out, well perhaps.

I guess the ultra low seat height and light weight makes it good for small people like me and a lot of ladies. Although I'm 5ft 7 and my girlfriend (of sorts) is 5ft 11. She actually wore heels going out with me. Seriously I feel inadequate.

Hope I've made the right decision going for this bike. Don't usually buy new ones as I like my bikes to have depreciated almost fully when I get them second hand.

But hey ho why the fuck not, it's not much a month really. Only live once ehh.

Well you could put it like that. Laughing I've fucked up this time. It's not only a cruiser, it's a girls cruiser. Oh well. Did you write a review? Where is it please.

The power to weight ratio is better than a lot of larger cruisers, most cruisers anyway.

Here were my initial thoughts on it:

Then someone else wrote a review where I added my "tart bike" comment:

I love new bike days, so exciting Very Happy I've only once before bought a brand new bike. It's very shiny, soon sort that.

I know it's a girls cruiser with brown seats, really it is. On the Rebel FB page there are so many ladies commenting. Need to have a ride with them.

Anyway, I like my wee cruiser.

So I've just come home from a night out with a Dutch lady. She is over visiting friends. I met her at my auntie's funeral and we kept intouch. Never got a shag, not that I could even if I'd wanted to and actually was happy that she smoked cigarettes so we had something in common. Anyway a long story that I won't bore you with.

Anyway 250 miles on the ladies cruiser and a review so far. Things I haven't heard in online reviews.

The 471 cc engine is good. Picks up really well at low revs, way better than a high-revving inline 4, good bottom range torque. It has enough power for any road situation really. It is not particularly fast, fast enough.

It takes a bit of getting used to the fat front tyre. Makes for a lack of stability at walking pace or coming to a stop, maybe it's just me.

The seating position is okay, pegs are slightly forward from a sportsbike but not way out in front like a typical cruiser. Quite comfortable but then I'm 5ft 7". A tall rider would be better looking elsewhere for sure.

I'm not used to a bike firing up with no input, no choke, no catching the throttle. It just starts and runs lovely. Jeez it even has a fuel gauge and gear position indicator. I'm not used to that.

The bars are ever so slightly forward, too much forward. You are not sitting bolt upright when riding it which is what I'd have expected. Bar risers would fix this but it doesn't bother me enough to do that.

The engine sticks out on one side more than the other, annoying, one leg has to sit further out than the other. Never heard of that in any review. It is annoying but no game changer

In general the bike goes well for it's 47 hp. Not quite as nippy as my Fireblade was Laughing but it is so easy to ride, everything just works and it feels quality like a quality bike that should cost a lot more. Well done Honda.

The tank is only 11 litres which will be about 120 miles for me as I will be making progress as much as I can out on the bike. Screwing the guts out of it.

The one major issue for me is that the bike has no rev counter! wtf were they thinking. I'd prefer a rev counter to a speedo (Reminds me of speedo swimwear, not that that matters)

The brakes are sufficient. I've been practising emergency stops. No need for the ABS really.

There is only rear pre-load adjustment and no other rider aid. I like this, no silly settings to muck around with. Works for my weight straight out of the box.

A2 licence holder this would be a fantastic bike.

I love the look of the bike. I'm not a cruiser person but I couldn't help myself with the chromeless bike.

I will write a review on my leather chaps later. Also best buy review of a sleeveless denim jacket, kevlar embroidered.

Managed to get a photo of me ready for a ride out around East Lothian.

I am trying to get this look.
