The nine stranded me three times late last year - here's once:

Intermittent electrical fault, after fitting new discs and getting the wheels powder coated.
Got dyno'd to see if it would cut out but it never did (at least i got a some power runs though - it's making 127bhp, it turns out - not bad for 98k miles).
Anyway, for one reason or another, I fancied a change. A serious change. Seeing as I ride 75% unmarked back lanes, some sort of adv type bike seemed the best bet. After a lot of umming and arring (I came close to throwing 6k at Tiger 800 XCAs a couple of times), I eventually bought this old 1150GS for £3.4k with 45k on it (I think this is not a cheap price btw):

Tidy example. What year is it? Single spark engine makes it pre-2002 should think. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
