No more so than a reactor or diesel tanks.

They site them in the middle with loads of armour and other defensive measures.

We aren't talking military in any case. Commercial goes for efficiency.

Gas turbines don't use gas, they use jet fuel, AVT and the like.

Been in a shit space (mentally AND physically) for several weeks but have finally turned a corner and returning back to SUPERHELLKATWOMAN
Dance! Dance!

Strangely, the improvement in mood was precipitated by a mate of mine calling me out of the blue: a bird who almost never calls me (and I call her even less) but she rang at just the right time when I was feeling at my most hermitty - I wouldn't normally think to turn to her for "a chat and advice session", so I was quite pleasantly surprised that a bit of a biker-chick/goth-bitch boomer-girlie nag has set me back on the path to my former state of righteousness. Cool Thumbs Up

Ordered new lid at half past 1 yesterday afternoon via ebay from a bike shop in Leeds. In my hands in Bristol by
10.20 this morning. Brilliant. Also happy with the lid, feels lighter than my Spartan Carbon. Will test ride it later.

Not at all.

I am the first half of that equation (although I probably don't really qualify for biker-chick status, in light of me being a tubby old ratbag and never really very biker-chicky at all).

The goth-bitch half of the equation being my mate, who is quite definitely spoken for, in view of the fact that she is living happily ever after in dating-my-ex-boyfriend land, and tries her best not to mow people down with her multi-wheeled chariot along the highways and bi-ways of Shepherds Bush.

I only just scratch into boomer category myself and she's turned 60 this year, so I dragged her into that description with me for the sake of continuity Laughing

It's more like Hells Grannies than Gilfs-R-Us.
(although neither of us are actually grannies so far, but ...meh! who cares?!)

I could do with a nice boyf again now, though Thinking - the novelty of being a mad cat lady is wearing off now. Might have to take meself off out on the weekend and see what's lurking around.

Had a haircut yesterday and dyed me hair today.
No more fat frizzy-grey-roots old lady.
Just fat.
That's next on me list.
No reason what-so-everrrr any more why I can't get my lardy arse down to the swimming pool which is a gentle three blocks stroll away. I've had my swimsuit and a towel sitting in a shopping bag for about two weeks now... Rolling Eyes Come on Jennnn! Laughing

Can't do anything about the old lady aspect so just need to move all the other goalposts. Cool Thumbs Up

The little bastard had medication for ADHD for the first time.

There was some truculence around taking the capsule but sprinkling it on yoghurt (as per instructions) worked fine.

There were many pleasing small changes. He didn't have hissy fits etc. Played nicely with other children and for first time climbed to the top of the climbing frame and down again without any panicking.

Normally he can't even work out how to get onto the damn thing and quickly loses interest!

Took turns happily on the zipline.

Then took his bike into the skate park!

It was an amazing change.

By 3 o'clock he had reverted to type so it had clearly worn off.

I don't know how old he is - presumably too young to be able to take tablets whole. If you can get him onto a delayed released version, like concerta, it's a more pleasing experience for him. A whole day at a baseline dose, instead of the peaks and troughs.

For work or school applications expect 3 hours of useful benefit from standard ritalin, so a lunchtime dose is useful.

Medikinet XL 10mg

He's 7 so multiple doses of standard stuff of a controlled substance is problematic. Schools don't generally want to get involved so that would be me having to go to the school at lunchtime everyday, Doable but that would be a nause.

He tried to take the capsule whole but really couldn't do it but was happy to take it in yoghurt knowing it was in it.

I'm thinking a higher dose is appropriate but 1) it's day one and 2)I'm not convinced that I got it all out of an already damp capsule. Tomorrow will be better planned knowing it'll be coming out of the capsule from the start.

It's somewhat pleasing that Mrs Bastard and the inlaws are having to deal with him without it after the great day he and I had.

It looks like that is a modified release capsule. If you can get him to swallow it whole, it should last longer.

The half life of the drug is only 2-3 hours, which is why there are all kinds of slow release and modified release versions. Increasing the dosage won't help much, it will still wear off fairly soon.

However, he is 7. Swallowing pills is difficult at that age. Getting it into a yogurt right before school will get him through most of the school day.

Oh, make sure he has a water bottle (he should be able to remember it now). He'll get thirsty.

Yes, he did get thirsty. It was noticable. Me being a good parent meant I had a water bottle to hand.

The 'sprinkle on yoghurt' instruction is actually in the instruction leaflet.

Oil rigs and platforms often use the gas to turn turbines. wasted as a bi-product of the oil production and, often blown off in a flair that is usually seen. If gas that is being produced is good enough quality for selling onshore use then diesel generators are generally used to power the platform.

At the garage I spotted some... ladies. Well, they weren't the licky-lesbians you see in the promotional videos that's for sure! Anyhoo, they're trying to change a flat tyre by first tightening up the wheel nuts Rolling Eyes Obviously I had to step in at that point and got the spare swapped in. Random acts of kindness are very uplifting Smile
