I am hearing people saying that a bigger engine motorbike can be more cost effective than a smaller engine one. Is this true?

Are faster or slower motorbikes more cost effective?

Which type of motorbikes require more repairs?

Which type of motorbikes is more expensive to maintain?

Which type of motorbike is the fuel more expensive?

Which type of motorbike needs a difference drivers license than a car?

I take it you've just decided to get into biking and this is your first stop?

Most of your questions don't have an answer really as it all depends on so many variables.

Big Engine more fuel generally.

You can ride upto a 125 with your car licence, after you've completed compulsary basic training.

It will be most cost effective to buy a secondhand bike where most/all the depreciation has occurred. You'll likely not lose any more money on it. You'll have to budget for all your riding gear also.

Good luck on your biking journey it's great fun.

Before answering legal questions it helps to know where you are?

But since you say "different than" and spell licence with an S, I'm guessing US?

So many variables.

What do you want it for? what's your journey if commuting. Is it worth getting a full bike licence depends on so many things and as some have asked, are you in UK?

I don't like small motorbikes, I don't feel safe on them but that doesn't mean they won't be eminently suitable for what you want.

We need so much more information to give you any valid opinion.

I think the basic idea (in the UK at least) is that 125cc Bikes hold a premium, and rarely drop below £1200-1500 as they are heavily in demand for anyone with £100 to get licenced up with a CBT

You can however buy bikes with much bigger engines can be bought far cheaper (in a similar condition to such cheap 125s) due to there being many, many more bikes on the market for those with a proper licence

BUT....... you need to factor in getting your licence, which will probably set you back close to a grand in the UK

Fuel is generally the same price regardless of motorbike type. However, GS riders sometimes have to pay a surcharge to offset their arrogance and abject sense of entitlement.

Given what my dentist charges they can surely afford it though.

Same as the mid level toner salesmen who part ex their personality for a Harley Davidson and won't nod or look at other bikers.
