completed my CBT on the 11th of this month, and ended up getting a honda cg 125 2004.
just wondering what i would need to do to be able to ride a bigger bike, wanting to get myself a yzf r25 sometime in the future.
in no rush to get one, just curious about what id need to get in order to be able to legally buy and ride one, thanks.

You'd need your A2 license or if you're old enough your A.

Go speak to your bike school

You'll need to (within 2 years of the date of your CBT certificate):

1. Take a motorcycle theory test (£23),
2. I would recommend doing DAS through a school where they give you tuition, use of a big bike and put you through steps 3 and 4 as part of the service. You don't have to use a school but I think they fannying about you need to do without a school is worth the cost of using the school,
3. Complete MOD 1 (off-road test) within 2 years of your CBT date,
4. Complete MOD 2 (road test) within 2 years of your CBT date.

That's it.

The theory test also has an expiry time.

Yes, two years, but totally redundant since the CBT is also two years and you get that before the theory test (in theory) Laughing

No problem, you done your theory test yet? Best get that booked asap then if you’re doing direct access as the DVLA/DVSA guy at the test centre will ask to see it before letting you on MOD1

Step one do your Theory, they aren't as easy as they used to be, grab a motorcycle theory book on Amazon or something for £15 odd, and do a few practises for free online.
