Ditch the water cooler and get a better GPU, I've never had a problem with the standard AMD cooler and if you want to run Starfield you need all the performance you can get. I have a 6700xt that I bought to play starfield and I'm struggling to even get a smooth 50fps.

The AMD cooler only comes with the 7600. You have to buy your own with the 7600X. I usually go with water-cooling anyway for under-stressed and quiet.

Got it built! The addressable LED stuff is all new to me but otherwise pretty straightforward. Props to the Lian Li Lancool 205M case. What do you get spending an extra £40 over some cheap shell? Simply put: quality, tangible quality.

With this funky case a single AIO rad can mount in 5 different places and a dual-fan rad can be mounted either at the top or behind the front grill. This turned out to be essential as top mounting would have clashed with the RAM sticks. All-in-all the case is an absolute pleasure to work with. I still have all the crap to get off my old PC at some point but between OneDrive and my Google account all the essential stuff I need is already available.

I've only had time to reload RDR2 but essentially it looks about the same as my old system but any frame rate you like at max-quality. A good start then Smile

You playing at 1080p?

My RGB cost me an arm and a leg, as I went with all QL140's in my H7 Flow, didn't realise how expensive fans had got nowadays. SignalRGB is what you want to be using to control it all, works flawlessly on mine for syncing them all up.

Oh and thanks by the way, you starting this thread made me start looking at bits, and I've ended up with a 5800X3D in my system now Laughing.

Hey, keep the conversation moving Smile

The Asus board I have has a single "old skool" RGB header and a load of ARGB (addressable) Gen 1/2 headers. No more difficult than connecting fans (which the motherboard also has plenty of headers for.) I'm just leaving it to "Aura Sync" which is doing a fine job of simulating a mushroom trip Smile I might see if I can get the colours to follow the CPU temperature, that would be interesting.

Trying to finish RDR2 but I now have near max ultra quality across the board in the graphics settings (there are a few shadow/reflection options that are stupidly wasteful to turn all the way up) and a steady 60fps @ 1080p. Suits me just fine Smile

Probably the Ryzen 7600X is overkill - it's under no stress at all.
