Hi All

Currently riding a MT09 for my London commute, now with all the 20mph roads popping up and the increased amount of traffic the MT09 is really a waste and not the most comfortable bike considering I don't do motorway or dual carriageway riding any more

thinking of switching to a scooter for the commute

6ft2 and around 18st so need something relatively roomy, I previously had a PCX125 which was on the small side, thinking of a Forza 250 or 300, any other recommendations or ideas?

Cheers

In all honesty I really like the Forza 750. It has enough punch for easy motorway riding and it can flicked about in the city. If I wasn't set on having a litre bike, I would have just got the Forza 750.

Comfortable for you and a pillion and the luggage pack means you can tour with it too.

Just remember that when you downgrade from motorcycle to scooter you need to hand in your man card too and go to boohoo and buy yourself some skirts and frilly knickers. Swings and roundabouts Laughing

I'm actually looking forward to the hand muffs and skirt tbh, as I get older the winters seem to get colder! plus I don't ride for fun anymore, I just commute, but the amount of cameras and police now in London especially on south circular means I have to be a bit more law abiding citizen even on the commute these days

the 750 looks good but tbh probably a bit overkill for london commuting?

It is a bit overkill but it's better to have and not require than require and not have. You might want to go a long drive in the summer and it would be much nicer on the 750 than a 300.

The Honda SH350i, or the earlier 300 version, are a good shout if you want something a bit smaller than the big Forza. I've only ridden the 300, but that had decent acceleration, was small enough to filter well plus it has bigger wheels than many smaller capacity scoots giving better handling. I quite enjoyed riding it on the open road too TBH... defo recommended.

The only caveat would be, as you're talking about using it in London, that you need somewhere secure at each end of the journey or it - or any scooter you buy - will be gone faster than you can blink.

thnaks, I prefer the scooters where you can put your feet forward a bit as find them more comfortable so looking towards a forza or tmax/ymax whatever the yamaha version is.

I have secure parking either side, otherwise would never had the MT09 Mad

Remember as the cc's go up the mpg does tend to go down.
I reckon a 300 Forza would do you unless fuel cost is no issue

I worked on and rode the 125 Forza recently and that was pretty comfy for me and I'm 6'2"
If fuel economy is an issue, I reckon that even the 125 Forza is good enough for 20mph city traffic and they're good for 70+ I was told by the owner.

Once you get use to all the ghey secks and your eyes stop watering
scoots is good fun for flitting about the town

True enough. OP, you mentioned the Tmax... mine liked a drink, but that probably had more to do with the fact that it was such fun to ride - it's the only scooter I've ridden that had more than just sporting pretensions - that it encouraged you to hoon it everywhere. I didn't have it long Laughing
