I was off with the local TRA group yesterday. I'd always understood that if you used tyre mousses for any significant road distance, they would fail but all the other bikes on the ride were running them and said they never had a problem. We covered easily 100 miles about 50:50 road to offroad.

Got me thinking about fitting them to my Bullet trials bike, it would save worrying about flats and save me carrying a spare tube, tyre levers, pump and pressure guage. My top speed is about 40mph and there's maybe 12-14bhp and the bike is about 120-140kg so it's not going to overwhelm the things. I've got a couple of questions.

Do they have an equivalance to a particular tyre pressure? I'm running at about 6psi for most offroad work with a 275 x 21 front and either a 400 x 19 or 400 x 18 rear.

Cann you still keep the rim locks in, I'm concerned the tyre could still dismount without them.

How much of a bastard are they to fit and how do you get the bead to seat onto the rim once they're in?
“Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles.
