Not bouncing back after starting - probably from all the stormy weather.

3 options it seems. Open it up and stretch the spring, get a new spring, get new switch for £90. Magic WD40 didn't work.

Common problem on these older Tracers?

Strip down, good clean and silicone grease... probably be fine unless the spring's completely shot.

Very rarely spring failure in my experience.

I go for opening it up and giving it all a spray in contact cleaner then once thats dried a bit of GT85 and reassemble.

Took the switch apart today. Nothing obvious except the for the weak spring and perhaps some hardening grease. Seemed good condition otherwise.

Cleaned it out, attempted to stretch the spring slightly and added a small drop of 3in1 (lots of plastic so not great for oil-spray solvents). Has a little 'spring back' after reassembly now but not much - enough so that starter motor disengages.
