Is it true you now must have trade credentials to buy from them?

In British Car Auctions, they say,
Only trade can bid, come what may.
But the public, with glee,
Can buy cars, you see,
If they're keen on a great deal that day!

Tossers! Rolling Eyes

I was only checking cos I believe this is new. I'm hoping to buy my company car when the lease ends and I know they usually end up at BCA wher they tend to go cheaper than when you approach the lease outfit direct.

So Cinch = BCA retail then. Times have changed.

Now we know why they're trade only. Businesses don't get the same protections as consumers.

Golly.. I'll admit I've not visited them in about 10 years so times have changed.. from this review it seems they are trying to offload the WeBuyAnyCar shite to the trade and they're not liking it much..
.. no surprise there folk will only use webuyanycar to offload lemons - its obvious.

Wow, I'm not into car auctions but they really do have a stinking rep dont they?
There are always variation in any reviews but 92% of them at the lowest possible score says a lot

Hmm, can we conclude form this that WeBuyBlahDiBlah source all the vehicles for 'Constellation Group' then the shite is passed through BCA and the better ones through Cinch?

BCA sell more than a million cars each year and those cars come from rental fleets, hire cars, motability, webuyanycar, dealers, PCP cars, etc etc etc.

How they decide which cars go to cinch and which go to auction is anyone's guess. Lots of the places BCA cars come from are places where the driver won't have cared about the longevity of the vehicle so picking out the cream of the crop won't always be straightforward.

I reckon there's a reasonable chance that the low scores on trustpilot for BCA is down to a few really unhappy customers who have left and continue to leave multiple one star reviews. Those 397 reviews are spread over ten years so draw your own conclusions from that or perhaps don't draw any conclusions from that.

Yes, you MUST have a trade motor insurance policy. They will ask for this when you go in to set up your account, which you must do before you can bid on anything.

How do I know this? I thought I would be a cheeky chappy and get some poor cunt who couldn't afford their Maserati's Maserati on the cheap without some cunt dealer as a middle man putting a mark-up on it for nothing.

But alas, I was stumped when I turned up at BCA and told to come back with a trade motor policy.

Anyway. The thing is I went and got quotes on a 5 vehicle trade policy and it was only about £2,000 which I think is actually really good for 5 vehicles (bikes and/ or cars) of a value up to £100,000 each. Didn't want to pay out for another insurance policy so left it.

But if you had bought the policy, wouldn't it have been invalid on account of you being, er, not trade?

Fat and Angry Car and Motorbike Sales Ltd can be created in less than six hours for £19.99 at companies house. Once Fat and Angry Car and Motorbike Sales Ltd had a company registration it would get insurance within an hour of that then apply for a Trade License from the DVLA later that day.

All legal. All legit. How else do others get started in the motor trade? Laughing
