So the Woke brigade bawww senseless about slavery under the British empire 300 year ago, tear down statues, have history re-written etc. etc.

Not that I condone slavery but their efforts would be better targeted at combatting modern slavery.

Take Nigeria for example, a few days ago almost 300 children aged between 8 and 15 were taken. Those responsible include the Boko Haram Islamist group and offshoots.

When asked why this had sparked up again a spokesman suggested it was due to it nearly being Ramadan (the militants need slaves/servants). Families often bought their children back, but the government made it a crime to make ransom payments was passed in 2022. It carries a jail sentence of at least 15 years.

There's not enough in the news about this. Personally I think it's shocking.
