Do you need to rewatch Dune 1 or is there a decent recap?

You don't know the Narrative of Dune anyway?

I do.
Read all the books decades ago and seen all the films

Just this is part 2.

I didn't think part 1 was that great so would prefer to jump straight into part 2 with a recap of part 1

We re-watched it the night before. Seemed to help the little lady.

The Card Counter 2*/10 - its too freaky for me and its still not even finished.

I only really wanted to watch it so I could ogle Willem Dafoe, but despite my best efforts, the movie was too slow, and I just can't get into it.

I went off to make some coffee and while I was out of the room (maximum of 5 minutes, and still within earshot of the telly) it somehow jumped into some random shit about ?torture and I couldn't connect the dots.

The music keeps being "interesting", sort of almost drawing me back in, but I've lost interest now. Laughing

Anyone else seen it? As its on a terrestrial channel it will probably come back round in a few days so I wondered if anyone else's opinion might sway me into paying more attention next time.

*only awarded because Willem Dafoe looking edgy Laughing

I sat up last night watching ‘Little Joe’ on TV. Genetically-modified, neutered plants gain the ability to use pollen to modify human behaviour for their own benefit. The film came out during the pandemic, oddly, and since Ben Wishaw was in it I expected it to be good. It was quirky, slow-paced but intriguing. After midnight I had to record the last half hour but I watched that this evening and was disappointed. The slow burn should have been lifted by the heroine saving the day, but she simply succumbed. Disappointing and a waste of a good build-up. 5/10.

Rewatching a classic: The Hill (1965)

Old skool racism and homophobia before we got all this diversity nonsense Smile That's easy going though. One of the prisoners was about to turn on the shower. "Not that one!" exclaims a fellow prisoner,

"That one turns on the gas."

Shocked

Roadhouse - 1/10.

Mr Swayze was certainly no Sir Anthony Hopkins but even he will be spinning in his grave at the standard of acting in Gyllenhaal's pile of shite.

I actually quite liked it because it was one of those movies that's so bad it's enjoyable. If you go into it knowing its some pantomime level dogshit you can just watch with an empty head then it's pretty funny. I was laughing at McGregors shite acting constantly Laughing

5/10

Nefarious 8/10.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14537248/

runs a bit like a play, most of the film is just 2 men in a room conversing.
had me and the wench engaged right until the end.
the best film i saw last year i reckon.

Immaculate 7/10

Better than I thought it'd be. Not a novel idea but well executed. Especially at the end. Sydney Sweeney always worth a watch!

Rosemarys Baby vibes.

Generally good, as long as you can ignore the hardcore Christian propaganda elements, and that shitty scene where the guards inexplicably stand around with their thumbs up their arses.
