Paying a few quid of a knock-off exhaust for what is effectively a consumable item is no biggie.

Paying good money for named brand exhaust that turns out to be a knock off... then you can get upset Smile

A pair of narrow souled trainers.
Getting a bit fed up with my clutch foot catching my brake foot while driving with my usual choice of footwear.
I always wondered why you'd see the Top Gear lot wearing them, I thought it was just for the pose.
Never seemed to have this problem with Astras of the past, I think pedals must have gotten closer together on the latest models.

Army surplus Austrian boots. £50. Good condition. What, in the olden days, we would have called "firsts" as opposed to "seconds".

Not buying old British army boots again, until I'm sure all of the "the soles fall apart" stock has been used up.

Tracer 700 drain plug

Was only haf the length of the one I took out. Was also a 19mm head instead of 18mm. Seems to work though - holding back a full belly of Motul 7100.

Given the propensity of drain plugs to strip the thread I'd get that changed out for a full length one ASAP.

Yes was concerned about that - 45Nm of torque is stated in the manual which seems high when theres such a risk of stripping. I did check the threads and they seemed in very good condition.

Only ones on ebay advertised solely for the Tracer are these stubby little ones. There are longer ones that fit though so will look to those at the next change. Kept the old one but it looks like someone has gone at it with an adjustable. This new one is nipped up nice and snug and has been run half hour so far with no drips.

Nah, I like the silicon warmed all the way through and I don't want to leave it dunked in a sink of hot water then it cools down quick.

To be honest the heater works really well except it makes the lips or ring piece entrance really fucking hot, like uncomfortably hot but the rest of it pretty awesome.

Built in immobiliser. But was told its more likely to be the reverse charge on the trickle charger. I power by solar, but left it on overnight. Own fault.

Three years of no internet connection or free time. Currently self-employed working part-time, and I have upgraded so I can tether my phone Smile

This reminds me of an idea I had a while back...

I've also found that the heat dissipates too quickly when warming through with hot water so as to not be worth the effort.

I'd imagined (perhaps incorrectly?) that the proper, rod-style warmers would suffer the same fate (also considerably more expensive than just using the tap).

So I was considering using the universal 12V handlebar heated grip pad thingies, like these:

Picture a pair of these between the outer casement and the inner silicon, attached to a power supply to provide a constant heating effect..?

Sounded good in my head a while back, but I never got round to actually trying it out.

Although, I think I did buy a set of these for the Triumph last winter but never got round to fitting them to the bike Thinking

Might be worth having a rummage in the shed at the weekend...
