I recently rebuilt my starter to find that the bearing that attaches to the end of the motor part (that contacts the brushes) needs replacing. I could not find this bearing to purchase leading me to think I need a new starter if anyone has any ideas where I can source this bearing would be greatly appreciated.

Measure it up and plug the numbers into simplybearings.co.uk

Or see if it has a part number stamped/etched onto it.

They may not turn fast but there is significant lateral pressure applied
when it's working
and any well made starter motor should have a bearing or phosphor bronze (or what's known as 'Oilite') bush at the business end of that shaft.

The good news is, if it does have a bush instead of a bearing, simplybearings.co.uk will probably flog them as well

If it is NSR related, listen to Alains. He is Mr NSR.

I took the starter apart again to measure the bearing and the bearing had exploded, there were little balls everywhere. The magnets have also broken. Anyone know the best place to buy a starter? Cheers.
