Too early for 2024?

2004 Official Test Results from Valencia. Marc Marquez 4th quickest in the Ducati. Good start for him. If he can stay on the bike I see him winning it again.

I’m interested enough to consider paying for TNT sports since Virgin Media removed it from their standard packages.

Next year feels more interesting than the last few years.

Sepeng times will give a better overview.

I suspect Vinales will top Sepang Rolling Eyes ...I do like Vinny but he's just not that good when it comes down to getting the passes done.

Binder...Oh Binder...animal....hopefully Miller will get his groove on.

Bez vs Marquez...well worth watching for those two.
Pecco vs Martin...as above.

Acosta...that's not bad for a first try on a big bike.

Concessions...Nobody really wants them but they did serve a purpose for KTM/Apilia and Suzuki. There are a few tiers with each offering extra goodies.
Extra engines. Engine development. Aero changes...Extra test tyres...More tyres..Choice of track..Test riders only or test rider with race rider(s).

I have no allegiance to a rider or team...I rooted for Rossi and Lorenzo and Pedrosa and Stoner when they were the underdogs...so okay I support a highly likely not to win rider....but they must have a sniff of a chance.

Still want Takaaki Nakagami to win a race. Laughing

Every year begins with high expectation yet more often than not can be all over bar the shouting too early. What I think we can expect is for the difference between 1st and last to be closer than previous years....Showing my age... I can remember when racers getting lapped was regular.

I subscribed to the MotoGP pass service for 3 years until this year when I thought it would be included in my Discovery Plus subscription. I have to get that so I can watch SBK and BSB here in Ireland. Unfortunately the MotoGP option is removed for Ireland. So to (legally) watch F1, MotoGP, BSB and SBK next year, I have to pay for three streaming services. It's all getting a bit expensive.

I predict Marquez to win MotoGP, Bautista to win SBK and G Irwin to win BSB. Max is a shoe in for F1.

This winds me up too, ok i can watch BSB and WSBK for free(ish) on Eurosport here in Blighty, but to get any other form of motorsport it's either a full on Sky Sports add-on, which includes loads of sports i won't ever watch (foosball, tennis, cricket etc), or pay for indivual passes

Why do none of the TV suppliers offer a Motorsports package?

Anyway, and again slightly off topic, but will be interesting to see how the new weight penalty system works in WSBK, ok it was a 3 horse race this year, but at least it was 3 different manufacturers, i fear next years MotoGP will turn into the Ducati Cup

New concessions may help to prevent that.

EE provide it as an option on some contracts, wife gets 20% discount off them (they do it for various occupations) so it technically comes free.

All manufactures agreed to the 4 tiers of concessions, which makes sense for the series.

Marc Marquez has just had an op for arm pump in his right forearm.

...and this Shocked Laughing

Bridewell to the Factory Honda BSB Team. He is going to have to try hard there to replicate his 2023 season.

The others got better.
The Honda in the test was pretty good unlike Yamaha.
If Gigi is to believed the 2024 factory Ducati is yet another significant improvement over the previous one.

Not heard much from KTM and Aprilia but they’re not known for being difficult to ride these days, or slow.

Yamaha… fingers crossed for them. Post test interviews were subdued.

Really looking forward to this weekend. First practice whetted the appetite.
Then watched the Jake Dixon diaries… hmm interesting. Wish him well but by heck he’s a fragile type in a sport where the steely ones thrive.
Fingers crossed for the fella.

You didn’t cross them hard enough HT. Massive high side, no fractures but declared unfit. Crying or Very sad

Saw that. Shocked Can't believe he didn't break anything.

The sprint race was quite uneventful which was a surprise. Those KTMs off the line were bullets.

Races are getting closer in respect of lap times but not racing, even the sprint wasn't exciting to watch.

With the increased subscription fee for TNT Sports (currently included with Virgin but now a separate fee) not sure I'll be watching beyond 2024.

Time will tell.

ITV4 are showing some of the races live plus highlights of the other rounds.

Ready for today's sprint?

According to Financial times 'Formula One owner closes in on €4bn deal for MotoGP'

Not sure if it's a good thing or not.

Liberty media are the new owners.
From what I can glean they're not in the habit of buying cheap and selling. Fingers crossed.

Fabio Quartararo has signed on for another 2 years with Yamaha.

Fabio's contract will have all the get out clauses if Ducsti or KTM come knocking.

Liberty media buyout has been on the cards for a bit I think.

I'm a fan of Marquez but I'm not sure whether I could wear his new apparel. I've got the loudest Repsol Honda hoody that I can't bring myself to wear in public. Only been worn at the Knockhill BSB.
