Oh christ almighty. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I remember the navy basic training when the killick came in battering a shit can shouting 'hands of cocks on socks' at 05:30. Followed by a run and some marching training, followed by a gymn session. I could always climb to the top of the rope. Skinny lightweight

I'd vote for National Service, fucking youngsters need to learn dicipline and respect for themselves. lol

Also it's damn good fun having comrades to laugh with 24/7. It brings you out of your shell socially. And by fuck is it good when you get leave and come home to your mates who are working in Tesco, when you have been half way round the world.

Although it's fair to say these days I have no dicipline or respect and would I fuck join any of the services.

It's not that I don't think the modern youth need it, it's more the army/navy don't.

The standard of trainees we got in the Merchant navy towards the end of my time was a joke. Discipline was not existant and that was people wanting to be there (more likely wanting the pay packets). Order them to get a life jacket on, get forward in a gale ready to drop the anchor? LOLOLOL

The only good thing was I could slam the little cvnts up against a bulkhead when they pissed me off because we weren't British registered.

It sounds like a slightly more grown up and boring version of cadets.

"learn about cyber security, logistics, procurement, or civil response operations." Sleeping

As great as the idea of keeping people away from "lives of unemployment and crime" is, has anyone checked to see if the armed forces want those people? Laughing

Sure, he wasn't involved in make that decision but he was meant to be in charge and who knows what details could emerge in the next few weeks.

I think if anything could be laid at his door it would have come out by now.

Do you think, when they inevitably lose, the Tory press office will trot out "...we failed to get our message across." Recycling being a big thing these days Smile

It's seems that for the last nearly two years the Tories have gone from the bumblings of Boris the Buffoon to an extended mix of the Cha Cha Slide but where every dance move is 'Step to the right.'

And if/when Labour win I can see a very quick step to the left with Starmer being forced out by the Corbynistas as soon as he gets something wrong.

The logical thing is to vote for the LibDems but they are the biggest bunch of non-entities in politics.

Over a decade of jumping to the Left and now, with the laughable "National Service" idea, a step to the Right...

Surely they're doing The Time Warp Laughing

So, the multiple atttempots at cutting taxation and cutting services as a result, the rivers of shit and the roads being more like ploughed fields, plus the constant attempts to criminalise protests are left wing things?

Sounds like the Lab government of the 70's with the rubbish in the streets and bodies piling up in the morgues

Constant pandering to the woke factories in Universities , Allowing left wingers in devolved administrations to sabotage the country while taking dubious donations/ Campervans, 700k Net migrants in the last couple of years, Doesn't sound very right wing to me.

Maybe because we don't have a definite definition of left and right wing anymore, because the Soviet union's gone, people just don't know the difference anymore.

What the current crop are, is fucking stupid while trying to throw any solution as systematic problems, they have no ideology, Like why does the MOD keep pissing money away, are they left wing, or just bad at the job?

The Tories are done, Labour will be to in about 6 months when they make all matter of excuses and nothing changes, they don't have the Fiscal headroom that Blair had, and everytime someone lists New Labour achievements, it's spending money on things.

Then when both parties are smoking wrecks, we might get change.

Actually net immigration is a Capitalist thing because a larger unemployed workforce means lower wages. It's a central tenent of Thatcherism. The socialist view is reduce immigation for the opposite effect.

I'm yet to see any left winger advocate for less immigration, This current Labour faction is blaming the Tories for immigration based shortages in specific industries.

This faction of the Tories wants as much migration as possible to prop up the growth figures while going ' oh we'll do something about the numbers' hence they're cratering in the polls, even now if they come up with another 10's of thousands pledge, no one would believe them.

Regardless of party affiliation, Westminster is stuffed full of people to whom politics is their entire career. Managerial types that treat the electorate as cattle to be managed.

Look in the mirror if you want to see an enemy of the State.

Some of the adverts on youtube are fucking cringeworthy. I know they like jobs for the boys and such but wow, did they hire someones teenage kid instead of an actual advertising company?

"Pro-EU" is sufficient for me to dislike the man, no need for other derisory epithets. His ilk have made sure UK citizens have been severely punished for voting the wrong way.

And yet he threw himself on his sword when Westland got sold overseas when he was Defence Minister.

Do the small boats need to be stopped and people travelling to the UK in those boats shouldn't be allowed to stay?

I thought we were talking about legal immigation by people with particular scarce occupations in the UK and not potentially illegal immigration where there is no actual legal route to legally apply for asylum from outside the UK.

As the Irish seem to be able to return illegal immigrants to the UK wee should be able to return them to france. France would then stop the boats.
