4 grand?
4 fookin grand??
That's an insane price for insurance
I suggest you try say a 250 or above
maybe something like a RE Meteor 350 type of thing?
I hear they're nor mad fast or sporty at all but good for relaxed tootling
even a 400 Burgman if you're man enough to take the scorn and piss taking

Jeez Louise! What area do you live in?! I passed my full licence at a similar age and paid about £300. That was over 3 years ago so I would expect to pay double that now... even so, four bags Sad

That does seem silly high.

Try bikesure or thebikeinsurer.

Just got a quote myself for my Tracer 700. £270 fully comp. £170 TPFT

Aged 44 - 1 year no claims.

Because they assume you will be driving something else for 8 hours a day instead of delivering pizza for 12 hours a day in the t heft capital of the UK

I am a home shopping delivery driver. For a superstore. So that is no different from a hgv driver all be it a larger vehicle I am not using my bike for deliveries

I dunno if it's still the case but the worst thing you could put on any insurance form was "Pub Landlord" Smile

They are going to assume you are doing deliveroo etc etc - hence the savage price.

If you are a LGV driver / then get on the phone and have a sensible conversation with them.

It's crazy that you job could cost you more on your insurance. Got nothing to do with you being able to ride a bike etc

Got you, I have a look if there is another name for my job without lying about my job. Even though I have a hgv license

Because of where you will be living / working and the inevitable risks that brings. They assume that 500+ people a night are going to have an eye on stealing your stuff.

Have a look at this: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance-job-picker/

It's quite enlightening actually...

Wow... I think I picked "Software Consultant" mostly on a whim (my actual official title "Senior Software Developer") and it's about the worst thing I could have picked!

"VDU Operator" is somehow the cheapest but a bit of a stretch (who even knows what a VDU is these days?!) I might get away with saying I've been promoted to "Systems Manager" if you take managing systems literally Smile

I feel a promotion coming on...

Honestly the longer I go on, the more I think the big Burgmann is a good bet for touring in comfort.
