I don't think anybody has made a hubless anything work well. Many have tried. They offer theoretical advantages which are alway defeated by friction.
My mates track bike (and by no means a modern one, it's a 1950s Flying Scot) can be sat upside down and the front wheel spun. You can go for a cuppa and it will still be spinning when you get back. It has bamboo rims. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

The bike is an art piece but it seemed to work fairly well. ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

In theory lower rotating mass, Less unsprung weight (your swingarm would only need to reach the edge of the rim, not the centre of the wheel), a more compact frame, increased steering leverage and the rotational forces are applied directly to the rim reducing losses and maximising efficiency.
In harsh reality, friction losses, the mass required to make the rim strong enough and the mass asociated with the larger bearing surface and complex drive system more than cancell these out.
On paper, they are a good idea. In execution for mass production, not so much. A bit like girder forks, on paper they are undoubtedly a better arrangement for motorcycle front suspension but I can only think of one example where they were executed in a sufficiently competant manner to take advantage of this (the Britten V1000). ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
