Hello,

My Yamaha YBR 125 EFI (2007) is not starting. I notice that when the ignition is on, the voltage across brown and red wires in the headlight casing fluctuates between 4 and 12 volts. Is this normal to have fluctuating voltage across these two wires?

Thanks

I've replaced a few YBR ignition switches so considering its age and that switch has to carry all the bikes electrical power, it's not unfeasible
it's internal contacts may be wearing out

Your voltage readings say across when I'd be
measuring voltagesat with respect to ground
this is confusing and doesn't help

Your 'doesnt start' description isn't helpful either
what does that mean exactly?
When you turn YBR on you should see the lights and neutral light come on
the Eml light come on briefly then go out
and hear the fuel pump prime for a second or two
The headlamp should go off when the starter is pressed and the engine turn and fire up

so what is or isnt happening?

Thanks for your reply. It is raining today, so shall update you with the answers to all questions later. Regarding ignition switch, it was replaced earlier and was working fine with (black and black/ white wire shortened).
