Civil war is talked up a lot but I don't think people grasp it won't be Cavaliers vs. Roundheads next time round. More like Tottenham riots on a national scale with a large dose of sectarian violence thrown in.

It might be prudent to consider practical tips of things to make/buy/stash that would be useful in such a situation. Ideally the sort of thing that would go unnoticed or at least make people go "huh, that's a good idea" rather than "this guy's a lunatic" when you have your mates round for a barbeque Smile

For example, there are loads of videos on the Social Medias of diversity gangs going at it. It mostly looks like cringe school yards fights but for the fact they're armed with knives and machetes Shocked Defending against even a small mob would ideally be answered by a pump-action shotgun but then you're into a firearms rather than shotgun certificate and people leaving early from the previously mentioned garden party Thinking

How about spears? Disassembled it's just a stick and the point can just be stashed in your tool box. Nothing to see here, move along. But assembled, a spear gives you the ability to strictly enforce social distancing Laughing

For sure spears have been effective since prehistory. Although are you planning on turning up to these garden parties carrying a broom with an unusually stout handle? You may land up having to volunteer to clean up after the party's finished. If you're carrying a broom, you can also carry a shovel/shield?

Sling tied round your waist as a belt? Also a highly effective stand-off based on historical records if practiced with first.

Half brick in a sock is an old staple. D-cell battery in a plastic carrier bag (carry in different pockets) is the modern equivalent and can have a significant deterrent effect on someone who intends you harm in a similar way. A mate of mine who was unhealthily into martial arts used to train with one.

An axe next to a pile of chopped firewood is a perfectly normal thing to have in your garden.

Then if someone is in your garden you don't want there, you can just axe them to leave.
