you may think this is a bazarr poll, but the reason for it is my friend came off today, and i said about it to people, and the first thing they come out with is lol or something.... i never thought crashes were funny, i didnt find this one either as i saw it happen. (nothing to do with you tom).

My mate seemed to find it funny when I came off while he was riding behind. Didn't find it funny when he saw the state of my bike though. No crash is funny, the only thing I may find funny is somebody loosing the front end on a quiet road doing about 10mph. Other than that, no crash is funny.

A crash is funny when you can walk away and be grateful that neither your nor your machine was damaged. Some low speed incidents are laughable, in my case, one particularly stupid occasion 200 yards after having binned it to begin with.

Slowing down to try and rearrange my mirrors, I discovered that my rear brake was jammed against the frame, and whilst stamping on it to try and dislodge it I connected with the verge with my footpeg, which promptly dug in and spat me off onto the verge (travelling at a miserly speed of about 5 mph), where I sat for a few seconds laughing at myself, for the bizarreness of it, if nothing else.

Schadenfreude is a bit cruel, but laughing at yourself is allowed in my book.

Some crashes are funny.. zxr400er watched me highside my WR400 into a ditch and just pissed himself laughing

I once dropped a 125 on my 33bhp licence training thing, the instuctor laughed.. I tried to do an ermegency stop in a big puddle.. it was funny, admittedly

Crashing the R6 or ZXR was 100% not funny though.

I don't think they are funny at all.

However at racing events when someone crashes its entertaining, though you gotta make sure the person stands up after crashing otherwise you look a twat if you cheer and they stay lying down.

I did see a crash once at Donington Park MotoGP, when I cheered and subsiquently got stung by a wasp!

Most off-road crash's are funny i think, as there isnt really much you can hit, unless you're off-roading through a forrest or something...

Crashing on the road isnt though, as there are way too many things that can, and usually will go wrong.

So, my answer is yes/no.

I remember in all five of my crashes, (even the fourth one where i broke two bones in my foot) I laughed my ass off for the next 2 minutes (apart from my third one where i was actually being shouted at by two police officers - i waited until they went before laughing .

No crash is funny but a while back was video clip of a fat brid on a crosser, she oges over a bump which throws her onto the handblas a second bump throws her over the front and the bike runs over her!!! As evil as it may be this was ve funny. To be fair was probably to do with her being fat and unfortunate rather than the fact it was a bike accidnet. PLus it was v low speed!

They're funny as long as the person is ok and the bike's not too badly damaged.

Funniest thing I've seen is Kickstart (Keith) diving off the road into a potato field and emerging from the other side without even dropping the bike.

It all depends on cicumstance i mean binning a bike can be funny depending on the out come and the reasons for the crash.

But high speed crashes or any crash that someone has been hurt in are deffinantly not funny

well ill tell u the story of the crash, i was my friend on his peugeot xr6, he was going round a 90 degree bend at 20, we do this bend regularly as u can only take it at like 30 mph so its still challenging on a 50. but he got mostly around it, he wasnt leaning really, less then he normally does and suddenly his front flew out from underneath him, i was behind him, neither of us can figure out exactly what happened. but his bike is alright apart from the nice scratches up the front right hand side pannel of a 2 month old bike, to replace itll cost him £500, i feel really sorry him as he was going careful, i think he must of hit something in the road. hes got a few bruises but hes sensible and had full gear on. he got back up checked him bike and we went off him, hes still riding and hasnt really been put off just lost his confidence a little- good on him i say this is his seconds crash, first one he hit diesel on his cbt when it was pouring down with rain.

hes so unlucky.

I really don't find them funny at all really.

I took my CBR600F sport out last night for the first time and my friend who was following me lagged back and as my mirrors are cack I couldn't see him so I was thinking crap whats happened. I started getting that really horrible sinking feeling in my stomach till I saw his head lights behind me, must say I did get a little worried. He has come off a few times and he has a little laugh about it now, but can't say I ever found it funny when he first told me.

As for another friend of mine he loves watching crashes and gore on the internet, just depends on the person really.

personally i dont think crashs are funny, but on me cbt i had to laugh at this lad, shit scared of his peugeot speedfight, we wer out doing the emergency stop, he rode back towards the instructor, waited till the signal was given then braked hard, but forgot to put his feet down once he had stopped, then in slow motion just tipped over and fell flat on his arse, he and his bike were unhurt but it was funny as hell

I have to say I've laughed every time i've come off,must be some sort of defence mechanizime in my body.Hate it when i see someone else comes off,the little heart stop thing.and when they are ok i do tend to laugh sorry but i can't help it.
