Hi
Im wondering what bike to get is a 125 2 stroke good enough? needs to go on road too, and wheres the best place to find one?

Luke

125 2 stroke is perfectly good off road, but not so much on... bigger bikes that are better on road are generally worse off road.. hard to balance out road and off road.. either way one or the other will have impracticalities.

If you have the bandit, why not go for a light 125/250 for just off roading and impractical road use?

CR250s are good bikes. Although get a test ride off road first as 250's can be a bit of a handfull....

I think the choice of bike should be determined by the type of off road riding you'll be doing mostly. If it will mostly be track riding then I would recommend a motocross. For the place in the photos a 125 motocross would be fine as it doesn't seem like you need a great deal of power as I can't see any hills or high jumps. A 125 motocross would be a good choice there as it is lighter and easier to handle. That would also depend on your size and weight of course. If you decide to go for a 250, it would be worth test riding it first as Yams said. They are quite a bit different to other bikes.

But if you would like something more versatile for green laning, general field type use and track riding then I think you should look for an enduro type bike. These would be a bit more practical for road use as well.

It's good to see more people joining the off-roaders!! Thumbs Up

Oooo, if you go down in the summer let me know. What does it cost?

Not sure if cast wheels and GPR70's are the best idea, but canal bridges are causing too many close calls.

I Had a Very capable Cagiva WMX 250 around 6 months ago had to build it up (getting a piston was a bit of bother but got one) had the frame blasted and coated, new plastics etc. Was great fun but never had time to get a trailer and take it somewhere decent, so i sold it to an owner who didnt understand the words 'Run it in' Rolling Eyes he brought it back, i fixed it and no problems since (apparently....but hes probably sold it!!! Thinking )
