Well I know how to do everything apart from this.

There is no mention in my owners manual.

Is it just a case of a straight piece of wood at 1 side
to make sure aligned.

I have no idea.

Anyone Mr. Green

Dont think they ask you about wheel allignment do they?!

I have never heard of it being one of the safety questions?!

If it is then the following -

To check wheels are allign you can check the tyre is wearing evenly on both the front and the back, if one is uneven then the wheel isnt alligned.

If handling is poor/shaky then it might not be alligned.

Check chain adjuster bolts have same distance out of the swingarm.

Specialist tools (Laser sight type things) are available to check allignment.

Take it to a garage and they will make sure it is.

---------

But again i dont think thats a question.

As long as your chain adjusters are both the same distance out from your swingarm then thats fine but if the tyres do seem to be wearings unevenly then most garages should have laser wheel alignment, so if they say anything just say youd take it to a garage to have profesionaly checked but as Barker said doubt theyl ask that.

On the practical 1 occasionally they do. Just say go by the marks on the swinging arm if you are doing it on a GS500. Apart from that I've no idea lol.
